Our guest speaker was D. Tracy Reynolds from Emmanuel College, Georgia, USA. Interestingly to note is that he was also one of our guests during the launching 4 years ago with Pastor Albert Clavo.

It was also a way to help a member of the congregation who cooks the “ginataan” or porridge every school day that he sells to elementary school students, to keep his income going even on Saturdays while we feed street kids.

We found some partners, a local bakeshop and some personal friends who are more than willing to donate a couple of boxes of bread every Saturday feeding.

As of today, we still conduct continuously the Saturday feeding program and the number of visitors has increased almost more than double now reaching up to 40 street people.

Its a thumbs up! Thank you partners, thank you ministry volunteers, thank you street kids for coming every Saturday and thank God for allowing us to be lighthouse in this part of the world. Praise always belong to the Lord Jesus Christ!

The Lighthouse Dumaguete Young Adults Midyear Camp

Its pushing through despite all odds. It will be held at Malatapay Beach Resort, Zamboangita, Negros Oriental instead of Siquijor this coming October 28 – 30, 2009.

If you wish to take part in this historic event, you can still catch up. You can book your tickets via Cebu Pacific or PAL Express. Be there latest on Wednesday morning flight and we will wait for you.

If you are from our outreach churches and you are a Young Adult leader, please contact your Pastor and let him contact us. We might be able to should a portion of your transportation fare depending on availability of funds on a first come first serve basis.

This month, the annual Buglasan Festival (annual province wide festival) is held and the city is bustling with so many people from other towns with boths and other shows every night held at the provincial capitol compound. Great sale of various unique products from every town of Negros Oriental.

LCC Dumaguete City Celerates 2nd Year Anniversary 

 This year’s theme was “Because of Who You Are”. It expresses our utmost dependence on God’s identity or attributes described by the various names different people in different times facing different situations called upon God.

When God said to Abraham that “I AM” is sending him to the people, God practically declared that He is what we need Him to be in our lives. God our Provider, our Healer, our Banner, our  Peace, our Righteousness, our Shepherd, our Almighty God who Sees everything and is in control of everything.

The place where we celebrated this year’s anniversary is another testimony of our journey towards growing a healthy, dynamic and life-giving community oriented church which was planted starting 3 years ago and was officially launched last June 2007 with our Senior Pastor Dr. Albert Clavo.

The new center was renovated after it was offered to us for half the normal rental fee of such a business area establishment. The renovation was undertaken by the contractor without asking for advance payment. They just asked for the payment in either amortized way of whatever way LCC Dumaguete can pay quickly.

It has a provision where we can hold our Kid’s Church in a separate function room. The main sanctuary can hold around 60 people. It has a Pastor’s Office and a Transient’s Room for visitors.

The leaders and even ordinary attendees worked hand in hand to help in carrying out additional wirings, paintings and other minor works until one day before June 21, 2009.  We couldnt have made it to this place without God’s provisions pouring in through people like you who gave sacrificially and covered us in prayer.

 This year’s guest speaker was Pastor Leo Peralta, accompanied by his able wife Sister Cathy Peralty. They are the outreach pastor of Lighthouse Bacoor, Cavite.

Though we still have a lot of things needed to complete the new center and some deficit incurred during the renovation, this we believe that God will continue to move His people to a new level of faith and obedience in reaching out to more lost souls and provide for the needs of His people and sow seeds of unity among churches in this part of the Philippines.

All of these we can only attribute to the one fact that we can’t deny, it’s all because of who God is through His Son Jesus Christ!

Lighthouse Dumaguete Team

Pastor Leo and wife Cathy Peralta visited Dumaguete last June 19~22, 2009 as guest speaker for the 2nd anniversary celebration. Showed in the photo is their gimmick at the Boulevard tempurahan, while they were strolling at the Boulevard and inside Bethel Hotel Cefe Felomina enjoying the specialty of the house, halo-halo!

Since 2006, we have been blessed by so many short missions visitors from Manila and other outreach of Lighthouse and by friends even from USA just to be with us and help us and really bless the body of believers here in this part of the world.

The ASCM (Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries) IMPACT Team led by Roce Anog with guest speaker and teacher Pastor Tracy Reynolds from USA visited Dumaguete last June 8-11 to conduct the “Levites in Leadership” Worship Seminar Workshop held in Bethel Hotel which was attended by more than 130 worship team members, musicians, worship leaders, audio/video technical people and pastors and workers.

The usual visit to Jo’s Restaurant is a part of having your feet walked in Dumaguete. Never complete without a treat at the legendary chicken inato restaurant.

Medical Missions Team of doctors, dentists, ministry workers from Manila and other Lighthouse outreach churches visited us to conduct our first ever Medical Missions last Aug. 25, 2007.

Liezel Sibal visited us last October of 2006 during the Buglasan Festival of Negros Oriental and the 3rd big fellowship.

Liezel was with her bestfriend Joanne. They are friends from other church in Manila.

Jonard Templo visited us during the first big fellowship last June of 2006. He was with Rio. Both were instrumental in the teaching of the first batch of worship team and leaders of LCC Dgte.

Rio Artadi is the most prolific visitor we have. She visited Dumaguete 3 times already. 1st fellowship last June 2006, Buglasan and 3rd fellowship last October 2006 and Levites and LCC launching last June 2007. A true blessing to us!

The visitor that holds the longest record of stay in Dumaguete was Lighthouse Mindoro Worship Pastor Junjun Dy. He stayed for more than 1 month last March-April 2008. He guested in the first ever Metro Dumaguete Hip-hop Dance contest organized by Pastor Rodney, Joseph and the APO Fraternity of Dumaguete City. Pastor Junjun also taught and helped in the discipleship of the worship team, helped in the youth bible study groups and just did whatever chores was needed. A true worshiper by heart and hands. We thank and love and miss you Pastor Junjun!

First Fellowship June 2006                                         

 There was a time that the number of attendees with the Hypermart employees bible study and fellowship reached more than 35 young adults being led by Pastor AJ.

 However, due to their contractual employment status, most of them went home to their towns after their contract expires.

Some of them went back to college to pursue their unfinished schooling. Some of them transfered work. But the best thing is that the word of God has been planted in their hearts.

 The end of the monthly fellowships was the start of the weekly sunday house church held at the boarding house of Pastor AJ in Laguna Hills compound along Hibbard street for the next 5 months.

And the story goes on about God’s goodness and faithfullness to those who put their trust in Him! Jesus Is Lord!
